To celebrate our collective of magical women for the next month we will be sharing an interview series featuring YCL Women, whom we are inspired by & are living their truth. We hope you enjoy this series!
1. Who are you & what do you do?
I am a confident and stylishly boho boss babe who runs my own fashion brands and wholesale agency in Brisbane! I care strongly about animals, the environment and humanity. I strongly despise greed and ignorance.
2. What’s your favourite piece of jewellery & what story does it hold?
I have so many favourites it is really hard to choose one! Most of my jeweller have their own unique stories of how they ended up in my life. If I absolutely had to choose one. It would be my indian feather tribal ring. I bought it from a small store in Byron Bay at the end of 2014 and whenever I wear it, I feel very grounded to the earth. I get comments on it all the time as it is so unique.
3. Why do you love your YCL treasures?
I love my YCL pieces as they too are very unique and I know each one was designed and made with love and purity.
4. Whats the best advice that you’ve ever received?
Gosh this one is tricky, I have received some great advice over the years..not to mention all the amazing quotes I like to live by also.. I would have to say the best advice and one I probably think of most often is something I learnt from my all time favourite movie Forest Gump. “Mama always said, life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.”
This couldn’t be more true. So there is no point thinking that life is this perfect thing that you will always get what you want. Life will give you all kinds of different flavours and you need to adapt and live for the moment. Work with what you get dealt and work your but to create the life you want to live, don’t just expect it to fall into your lap.
5. When do you feel most at home in your own skin?
I feel most at home in my own skin when I am near the ocean under the warm sun. With no make up on. I love the sound of the ocean and I love the warmth of the sun and the sand. Reading a book and just being.
